Coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity, and leadership.

It’s a fact that academic/university/healthcare professionals give of themselves in a very deep way. But the heart must feed itself in order to give to the body. Setting goals for growth is essential for the best possible life that an individual can achieve and that can’t be done alone. We need others to help us see! A coach can be efficient and unbiased towards our situations through thought-provoking questions that help you find your best journey.

In a sitting, come prepared with a ‘challenge’ you are currently facing. A challenge can be anything going on in your life you feel comfortable discussing, which is reasonable, and honestly usually all relates together no matter which compartment of your life (work, friends, health) is being affected. Generally, this session will be about 60 minutes long and you will be talking most of the time. See a silly/great example here.

This is the meat of coaching – the skills and clarity gained from coaching that give you a strong and more helpful professional perspective. These are skills that can be used in leadership and professional interactions, and are useful in navigating humanity! A few of these skills are listening hard, knowing how to be curious instead of judgmental, asking powerful questions, etc. Many skills are discovered on an individual basis while on a coaching journey.

Both! Workshops are more broad and not as personal but can be a great way to set a tone with your team or get your brain thinking. Individual sessions require accountability from you and can open the door towards your growth exponentially.

THIS IS NOT A PSYCH SESSION. It won’t be an unearthing into your past like an archeologist; more an aid in you building your present/future, like an architect.

The program provided me with help in ways that I wasn't expecting. I was very much on the fence to make a big change from an academic career with a balance of research and clinical practice to one that is only clinical. Additionally, I was strongly considering leaving the institution altogether. Coaching helped me to navigate significant challenges and engage in a more rewarding way with my staff.
